South Fork Ten Mile Report
In 2009 Consol filed a petition for the redesination of South Fork Tenmile Creek and tributaries from High Quality Warm Water Fishery (HQ-WWF) to Warm Water Fishery (WWF). If granted, this redesignation would have reduced environmental protections for the area.
In partnership with Mountain Watershed Association and PennFuture, CCJ commissioned an indepedent assessment of the existing water quality on South Fork Tenmile CreekS. The study found that not only is the HQ-WWF designation appropriate, but existing conditions in fact reflect the higher water quality designation of Exceptional Quality.
